Ritchie Torres (D\u2011N.Y.) and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ritchietorres.house.gov\/posts\/in-response-to-suspicious-polymarket-trade-preceding-maduro-operation-rep-ritchie-torres-introduces-legislation-to-crack-down-on-insider-trading-on-prediction-markets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">spearheaded<\/a> the effort.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe most corrupt corner of Washington, D.C. may well be the intersection of prediction markets and the federal government\u2014where insider trading and self-dealing are no longer imagined risks but demonstrated dangers,\u201d Torres said. \u201cWe ignore this plain-sight corruption at our own peril.
