He stressed the government\u2019s focus on attracting foreign capital into the digital currency sector.<\/p>\n<p>President Trump has threatened BRICS members with steep tariffs if they pursue an alternative currency system.<\/p>\n<p>India\u2019s foreign ministry rejected the concept in August 2025, stating that abandoning the dollar \u201cis not part of India\u2019s financial agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Industry leaders push back on regulatory gaps<\/h2>\n<p>Business leaders at the summit criticized Iran\u2019s cryptocurrency regulatory framework as inadequate. <\/p>\n<p>Ehsan Mehdizadeh, who runs Wallex Iran, the nation\u2019s top crypto exchange, said during a panel that current rules lack clarity and transparency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA country facing sanctions cannot afford to reject innovative financial infrastructure. Yet Iranian regulators still haven\u2019t grasped how blockchain technology functions,\u201d Mehdizadeh argued.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed to Iran\u2019s SWIFT exclusion as justification for crypto adoption. \u201cDigital assets offer a pathway around payment system restrictions,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s Central Bank maintains sole authority over crypto market oversight. The institution has imposed restrictions preventing Iranian Rial conversion to cryptocurrencies through local platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Crypto mining operations have received approval, though debate continues on energy pricing.
