Tether led OOBIT\u2019s $25 million Series A funding round back in February 2024.<\/p>\n<p>VCI Global has already <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.globenewswire.com\/news-release\/2025\/11\/11\/3185344\/0\/en\/VCI-Global-Acquires-US-100-Million-in-OOB-Tokens-and-Is-Appointed-as-Treasury-Manager-of-OOB-Foundation-in-Partnership-with-OOBIT-Where-Tether-USDT-Issuer-with-US-183-Billion-in-Ci.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">acquired<\/a> $50 million worth of OOB tokens through the restricted share issuance and will purchase an additional $50 million using cash purchases after the OOB tokens are publicly launched.<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- .cn-block-related-link --><\/p>\n<p>OOBIT is currently rebranding the token and migrating it from Ethereum to Solana. See below.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">OOBIT migration announcement | Source: OOBIT on <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/oobit\/status\/1987551190234906910\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">X<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As Tether is already the largest stakeholder in OOBIT, it will indirectly receive a notable portion of the newly issued VCI Global shares through the OOB Foundation, effectively making it the largest shareholder of the Nasdaq-listed firm.<\/p>\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tether fattens its investment portfolio<\/h1>\n<p>Tether has long employed strategic investments as a means to expand its footing outside the stablecoin market, where its flagship stablecoin USDT commands the largest market share with a total market cap of $183 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Just a day ago, Tether-backed video platform Rumble announced plans to acquire German data center operator Northern Data, which also counts Tether among its major investors and financial backers. Earlier this year, Tether acquired a minority stake in Bit2Me, a leading Spanish digital asset platform, and in February, the stablecoin issuer made a strategic investment in the Zengo wallet to drive global adoption of self-custody and stablecoin-based payments.<\/p>\n<p>And the company\u2019s approach appears to be paying off.
