The move, IG said in a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ig.com\/uk\/media-centre\/press-release-overview\/ig-secures-fca-crypto-licence--paving-way-for-expanded-offering\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">press release<\/a>, sees the platform become the first London-listed business added to the FCA\u2019s cryptoasset register.<\/p>\n<p>The license for IG comes as FCA reportedly looks to accelerate its cryptoasset firms registration process amid overall realignment with the regulatory developments across Europe and the United States.<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- .cn-block-related-link --><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">IG customers can trade Bitcoin, Ethereum<\/h2>\n<p>The regulatory milestone is part of IG\u2019s push to expand its cryptocurrency offering, following the company\u2019s rollout of a crypto trading service in June. IG unveiled this feature by partnering with Uphold, an FCA-registered crypto exchange and trading platform.<\/p>\n<p>By partnering with Uphold Europe, IG was able to allow its customers to buy, sell and hold cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL) directly through their IG app. The platform also offered web trading with customers getting 24\/7 access to more than 35 cryptocurrencies.<\/p>\n<p>The FCA\u2019s approval will now allow IG to offer digital-asset trading directly on its platform. When live, the service will support crypto transfers and other features as IG expands its foray into the sector.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThis marks a significant step forward for IG as we continue to broaden our offering for UK investors,\u201d said Michael Healy, managing director at IG. \u201cThe FCA licence not only enables us to provide a wider range of crypto services, but it also gives our customers greater flexibility and control. We\u2019re excited to bring more than five decades of market experience to help shape the future of the UK\u2019s rapidly growing crypto sector,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>IG now joins a roster of platforms offering both crypto and traditional assets\u2014such as stocks, indices, exchange-traded funds, and forex, via a single interface.
